Google's existential woes, deals on Flippa and black friday deals

📝 Patey’s Update

As you will see in the first three stories in the news section, Google SERPs are so messed up right now. With the existential threat of AI content (I often get way better results simply by going to Perplexity now), it’s been killing niche sites who can now achieve full topical authority for about $5 in OpenAI credits.

Instead it’s been rewarding super high authority websites, but also having to update site reputation abuse policies for big media publications who have increasingly been able to rank for all affiliate content, and as such have been partnering with third party agencies who write content on their behalf.

It’s also been rewarding ecommerce stores as these will, in aggregate, be real brands vs niche sites. So niche sites have been adding woocommerce and crushing it.

TLDR: It’s a big mess/problem for Google and there has never been a bigger opportunity for sneaky SEOs to take advantage.

💻 Digital Agency: I really love the simplicity of this business which offers custom scraping of website data, as well as selling off the shelf datasets for popular search terms that sales staff and other marketing agencies will be typing into Google. The funnel is simply Google Ads into landing pages where you can either directly buy the list or request a custom service based off your needs. Operations/delivery is outsourced to freelancers, so the owner does not need to be technical. Averaging $7.6K/m, asking price $250K - Listing URL

As we learned in business school, the Rule of Seven states that a prospect needs to interact with a brand at least seven times before they’re likely to take action or make a purchase. With influencer marketing, brand visibility should be valued as much as performance. This is why I price on CPM starting at $70 for a single placement, which drops to $30 in a bundle.

That’s it for this week, until next time, catch me in the community.

Cheers!
